the story
(short form)

I was born and raised in Minnesota, and I spent a year in Virginia and moved home once the lack of flannel and hotdish became unbearable.

Before advertising, I was a speech and debate coach, a gigging bassist, a part-time magician, and a spelunker. Since advertising,
I am still all of those things.

I was born dyslexic and became a writer. At thirteen, I was partially deafened, and I became a musician. My superpower is being able to do things I suck at over and over until I suck a little less. Perhaps I’m addicted to a certain kind of suffering, or I listen to too much punk rock.

It wasn’t until I was almost 10 that I could read at a functional level. Once I decided to win the war between my eyes and the paper, reading became a puzzle—I like puzzles. Why are you yelling?
Paint peeling,
Canadian healing
Imported wood sealant.

Stay on tempo, keep threatening,

Meditation on my eardrum;
Thích Quang Dúc
Gagging on TikTok love…
Look it up.

God can’t hear you
Through the bass drum

Besides my infatuation with fairytales and TacoBell, I am technically an undefeated UFC fighter with a record of (0,0), a narcoleptic coffee drinker, a lifelong musician (I play bass in a band, so I must be pretty cool), and a high school speech coach.

Keyboards

Why do I have so many keyboards?

I write so much I keep wearing them out.
Plus, they’re kinda nifty.
